Late Models

Jefferson Speedway’s 74th Season Opener brought to you by Run-Inn Erin’s, presented by Country Inn and Suites, and Pauli Plumbing was action packed. The Taylored Construction and Remodeling Late Model Feature was dominated by Dale Nottestad. The many time Champion took the lead from Chris Flairty on lap 15 and never looked back. Defending Track Champion Michael Grueneberg would settle for a solid runner up position to start his quest to defend his title. Will Rece proved to be a contender with his third place finish. Fast Qualifier and many time Champion, Jason Erickson worked his way up to fourth. Carson Phillips rounded out the top five.

Sportsman

Kody Hubred and Nick Bruley stole the show for the Lilly Auto Care Center Sportsman. The friendly rivals sliced their way through the competition and fiercely battled up front. Hubred slipped up and allowed Bruley to get to the inside. That’s the opportunity the Fast Qualifier and defending Track Champion needed. Bruley proves to be the driver to beat by winning the first feature of the season.

Hobby Stocks

Gaven Smothers and Braeden Yelland traded the lead lap after lap in the first half of the Hard Rock Landscape Hobby Stock Feature. Smothers would get spun around, ending his hopes for the win. Yelland would fend off challenges from fast qualifier, Waylon Robinson and Jim Tate Jr. to claim his first career feature victory. At the checkers it was Yelland, Tate Jr., Shane Radtke Jr., and Robinson.

UPDATE: Jim Tate Jr. Unfortunately didn’t pass tech which hands the win to Braeden Yelland! Well done battle by both drivers!

International

The Wolff Pack Apparel and Promotions International Feature saw the hardest wreck of the night. Camden Ricketts jumped out to the early lead. The youngster lost the handle on his machine and turned himself head on into the backstretch wall. The wreck collected many top contenders, including the new track record holder, Matt Berger. Action continued with Jason Uttech, Karter Stark, and Merek Pankow carving their way through the field. Stark would flex his muscle and drive on for the feature win.
