Jefferson Speedway washed out! Program to finish next week!!
By Jeanne & Larry Starr
June 12, 1999; Jefferson, WI. – Mother Nature strikes again at Jefferson Speedway. With qualifying complete and heat races underway, we were receiving reports of rain everywhere but at the track. The best reports indicated that there was a 3 hour window for racing.
As the second Late Model heat race rolled out, the three hour window disappeared, as the skies opened up washing away the remainder of a great night of racing.
Next week at Jefferson Speedway, following qualifying, the remainder of the rained-out show will be completed. Following the remainder of this program, the fans will see the full racing program, scheduled for next week, including WJJO Night at the races and the Smith Motors 50.
Because fans, who attend next week’s races, will have the opportunity to view both completed programs ticket stubs from this week, will NOT be honored next week.
Due to the length of this racing program, the “Great Trailer Race” and the “One on One Street Drags” have been postponed to a later date. The racing program, for next week, has been moved back 1/2 hour with gates opening at 3:00 pm, Qualifying at 5:00 pm and racing at 7:00 pm sharp.
Jefferson Speedway is located on Hwy. 18, halfway between Cambridge and Jefferson.
