Jefferson Speedway Readies for Season Opener

April 20, Jefferson WI — With over 70 cars on hand for last Saturday’s pre-season inspection and practice day, and over 120 entries received for the Spring Sizzler Shoot-Out, season opener, Jefferson Speedway is set to kick off the 2004 Racing season.

The Speedway was upgraded, during the off season, with a new configuration, and paving, in turns 1 & 2. The new configuration features graduated banking, similar to turns 3 & 4 but with lower increments, and promises to provide exciting racing action.

This year’s opener is a 2-day format, April 23rd and 24th, with qualifying, dashes, qualifying races and preview features on Friday night and Last-Chance and feature racing on Saturday, capped by the 65 Lap, Spring Sizzler Shoot-out, Late Model feature. Gates open at 1:00 Friday, with qualifying at 5:00 and racing at 8:30. Saturday gates open at 2:00PM with racing at 7:00. The track will be open for practice Thursday evening at 4:00.

Jefferson Speedway is on Highway 18, half way between Cambridge and Jefferson Wisconsin.
