This Saturday ASA Salute The Troops super late Model Event

This Saturday night, the “Stars and Cars” of the ASA Midwest Tour will take center stage at “Wisconsin’s Action Track,” Jefferson Speedway, for the annual Salute the Troops 100. A stout field of 22 drivers is set to battle for the $5,000 top prize in the 100-lap main event. The Entry List features a mix of former track champions, past Salute the Troops 100 winners, and talented young up-and-coming drivers, setting the stage for an action packed night.

The Salute the Troops 100 is set for this Saturday May 23rd. The Pit Gate is scheduled to open at 11:30am with Practice starting for the local classes at noon. The ASA Midwest Tour will hit the track for first practice at 1:15pm. Qualifying is set to begin at 4:00pm with Racing officially getting underway at 6:00pm.

Jefferson Speedway Set for Stacked Salute the Troops 100 Field

5 Casey Johnson – He’s a three time Late Model Track Champion at Jefferson Speedway to go
along with being a six time winner of the Wisconsin State Championships. He’s also a four time
Midwest Tour Champion and former winner of the Salute the Troops 100.

5 Penn Sauter – Penn Sauter is a former Late Model winner at Dells Raceway Park. He also
turned heads with a strong fifth-place finish at last year’s Oktoberfest Race Weekend.
Sauter is coming off a runner up finish at Wisconsin International Raceway in the Tundra
Super Late Models this past weekend.

7 Paul Shafer – Shafer is a former winner of the Salute the Troops 100 and the Gandrud
Auto Group 250. He has also found consistent success at Grundy County Speedway, where
he is a two-time winner of the Wayne Carter Classic. He is also a Chicagoland Champion
winning Track Championships at both Grundy and Illiana. Shafer is also a Super Late Model
winner at MIS.

7 Mitch Haver – Haver is a former winner in the NASCAR Late Models at the Rockford
Speedway winning back in 2022. He is also a former Rookie of the Year for the Big 8
Series, Tundra Super Late Models and Alive for Five Hard Charger Award winner.

8 Billy Mohn – Mohn already has one feature win to his credit winning a Late Model Feature at
the Elko Speedway. He’s also a former podium finisher in the Salute the Troops 100 with a third
place back in 2018.

8 Jayden Johnson – Johnson is set to make his ASA Midwest Tour debut on Saturday night.
The defending Slinger Speedway Late Model Track Champion enters the event looking to carry
his success from the high banks of Slinger onto the Midwest Tour stage.

8 Shaun Scheel – Scheel is a three time Late Model Track Champion at Jefferson Speedway
and a two time winner of the Wisconsin State Championships. One season ago Scheel also
won the Late Model Track Championship at Madison International Speedway.

11 Bryce Miller – Miller has four wins with the Midwest Truck Series including two wins at
State Park Speedway, Jefferson Speedway and the Dixieland Delight 35 at WIR. He is also a
former Track Champion and four time Late Model Feature winner at Hawkeye Downs 
Speedway in Iowa.

13 Nick Egan – Egan is a former Slinger Speedway Sportsman Champion as well as a
winner in the Clash at the Downs with the Big 8 Series and the World Stock Car Festival
with the CRA Pro Series.

14 Austin Nason – Nason is the most recent winner with the ASA Midwest Tour winning his
second Joe Shear Classic just a few weeks ago. He is also a former winner of the Howie
Lettow Classic, the Father's Day 100 at Milwaukee Mile, and the Wayne Carter Classic at
Grundy County Speedway. He is also a two-time winner of the National Short Track Championships
at Rockford Speedway.

14 Kody King – Last season, King earned ASA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year honors after a
strong season. So far in 2026, he has continued that momentum at Hawkeye Downs Speedway,
recording podium finishes in all three events contested to date.

15 Gabe Sommers – Sommers is a two time Midwest Tour Champion and is a two time
winner of the Jim Sauter Classic and Hawkeye 100. He’s also a former winner of the
Oktoberfest 200, and the Larry Detjens Memorial.

20 Jevin Guralski – Guralski is the defending Salute the Troops 100 winner and a former
runner up in the Larry Detjens Memorial at State Park Speedway.

23 Levon Van Der Geest – Van Der Geest is a former Midwest Truck Series Champion with
5 wins. He is also a former Super Late Model winner at Golden Sands Speedway.

27 Jeremy Bentz – Bentz rolls into Jefferson with two top ten finishes at Rockford Speedway in
the NASCAR Late Models and two top ten finishes at Dells Raceway Park in the CWRA.

36 Ty Fredrickson – Fredrickson has already proven he can win on big stages, capturing
victories in the Wayne Carter Classic and the Thunderstruck. He is also coming off a win at
Wisconsin International Raceway last weekend with the Tundra Super Late Models.

38 Jordan DeVoy – DeVoy is a former winner of the Icebreaker 100 at Dells Raceway Park
along with being a champion in the Tundra Super Late Models.

44 Justin Mondeik – Mondeik is a former Midwest Tour winner winning the Larry Detjens
Memorial twice and the Thunderstruck 93. He’s a three time State Park Speedway and
Golden Sands Speedway Champion.

58 Joseph Scholze – Joe Scholze has shown steady consistency in ASA Midwest Tour
competition, highlighted by an eighth-place finish in the final standings in 2023 and
a top-10 result again in 2025, where he finished 10th overall. He is also a Late Model winner
at La
Crosse Speedway and Jefferson Speedway.

77 Riley Stenjem – Stenjem is a former Tundra Super Late Model Series Champion and
winner of the Bev Aschenbrenner Memorial. He is also a former winner in the Late Models
at Madison International Speedway.

80 Ryan Farrell – Farrell is two time winner at Dells Raceway Park in the Alive for Five
Series winning the Trickle 99 in 2021 and Falloween Twin 75 #1 in 2023.

87 Brent Edmunds – Edmunds is a five time Late Model winner at MIS. Just two years ago
he came away with a 3rd place podium finish in the Joe Shear Classic. Last season
Edmunds finished second in MIS points and led the season with 3 feature wins.
