Nottestad, Thoma Lead the Way in Badgerland Challenge
Dale Nottestad (Late Models) and Jason Thoma (Sportsman) are the leaders in the Badgerland Challenge after two racing events. They will lead the field to the Jefferson Speedway on Saturday, August 20th for the final round.
Nottestad is on top of the Late Model leaderboard with 114 points with Zack Riddle in second place with 102 points. Rounding out the top five are Ryan Farrell (74 points), John Ovadal Jr. (72 points), and Shaun Scheel (63 points). Nottestad picked up the win at Slinger in July while John Beale won at Madison in a race completed on August 5th.
The battle for the Sportsman title is tight with Thoma showing the way with 126 points with Jay Kalbus (109 points), Bobby Selsing (107) and Terry Wangsness (101) in close pursuit. Mike Taylor (78 points) completes the top five. Thoma won at Madison while Kalbus took the checkered flag at Slinger.
Defending champions are Casey Johnson (Late Models) and Terry Wangsness (Sportsman).
With full fields expected at Jefferson and the leading drivers very familiar with the track, it is all going to come down to the final race.
