By Larry & Jeanne Starr
June 14, 2003; Jefferson, Wis. – It was the “NAPA Summer Rumble” finale of a 2 night racing program, between Columbus 151 and Jefferson Speedways. Drivers earned normal pay, for each race night, and points toward bonus money, paid for the top, overall finishers, for both nights.
Top Bonus money was paid to Scott Patrick of Dousman in the Late Model division, Mark Deporter of Fort Atkinson in the Sportsman division, Ken Au of Fort Atkinson in the Hobby Stock division and Brian Paulson of Edgerton in the Bandit division.
In Late Model action Scott Patrick moved from the outside of the front row to the early lead, and never looked back, guiding the field all the way to the checkered flag. The race slowed for two yellow flags, on lap 9 for a single car spin down the back stretch and on lap 20 when a pair of cars tangled on the front stretch. Scott Nottestad moved to the 2nd spot, on lap 37, and was closing the gap with Patrick. Nottestad caught Patrick but was unable to make a serious bid for the lead. At the stripe it was Patrick for the win, followed by Nottestad, Chad “Squirt” Stevens, Ron Bishofberger and Jason Erickson.

Pulling ahead at the green flag, Dolphin opened a strong lead, as the battles raged behind him. At end of 20, caution free, laps it was Dolphin for the win, followed by Troy Olson, Aaron Rude, Chris Quam and Mike Drays.
The International division did not participate in the “NAPA Summer Rumble” bonus program.

At the wave of the green Deporter started his journey to the front as Ken Scott claimed the early lead. Scott led the way for 18 laps, opening a strong lead, as Deporter battled his way to 3rd. Scott developed car trouble pulling from the track on lap 18, handing the point to Tod Goldade. As Goldade pulled to the point, Deporter moved to the inside, launching his bid for the lead. Motoring under Goldade, on lap 19, Deporter claimed the point, guiding the field from there to the checkered flag. At the stripe it was Deporter followed by Chad Reimer, Bret Schmidt, Jason Thoma and Curt Brown.
In Hobby Stock action Paul Edmundson of Whitewater claimed top honors in the 20 lap feature. Starting from the pole position, Edmundson watched Jim Williams pull to the early lead.
