Don Gaserude Victorous in Joas Painting feature event AT JEFFERSON SPEEDWAY

Late Models

Wisconsin’s Action Track was blessed with beautiful weather for Joas Painting Night at Jefferson Speedway. It was a roller coaster night for some of the front runners. The Taylored Construction Late Models were led to the green flag by Josh Thiering and Don Gaserude. Gaserude jumped out to the early lead. Shane Radtke Jr. started outside of Gaserude after a caution on lap 14. Radtke used the momentum of the high side to pull past Gaserude. Kurt Kleven followed to claim the second position. Radtke was able to keep Kleven in the rear view mirror. Radtke saw the checkers first. Kleven crossed the line in second. They were followed by Gaserude, Michael Guderski, and Michael Grueneberg. The top two finishers would later fail post race tech. Former Track Champion Don Gaserude was awarded the feature win.

Don Gaserude #81 Late Model Feature Winner 

Sportsman

Paul Johnson Jr. jumped out to the early lead in the Lilly Auto Care Sportsman Division. The action was wild behind Johnson. Kyle Chwala was eventually able to draw even with the leader. The two battled side by side for numerous laps. Chwala would slip, falling back to third. Mike Lambert would take advantage and put his machine in second. Johnson held off a late challenge by Lambert and came to the line first. The top two were followed by Chwala, Nick Bruley, and Chris Jones. Johnson would later be disqualified in post race tech. Lambert was declared the winner.

Mike Lambert #26 Sportsman Feature Winner 

Hobby Stocks

 The Wangsness brothers led the Gridline Landscape Hobby Stocks to green. Chase got the advantage on younger Kaeden. Waylon Robinson took the top spot after a restart on lap 10. Robinson was able to drive away for the victory. Robinson was followed to the line by Shane Strothman, Tony Ciano, Avery Linnerud, and Braeden Yelland. Yelland wouldn’t pass the post race inspection.

Waylon Robinson #133 Hobby Stock Feature Winner 

Legends

Jackson Lewis was victorious in the Legends Direct 25. The current point leader had a fierce battle for the top spot with Dillon Schwanbeck. Schwanbeck dominated the two previous nights of racing with two clean sweeps in a row. Lewis wasn’t going to allow that to happen for a third time. Lewis claimed top honors, followed by Schwanbeck, Cael Slater, Arthur Hahn, and Carter Stein.

Jackson Lewis #7 Legend Feature Winner 

Bandoleros

The Bandos Direct Bandoleros had another nail biting adventure. Side by side and three wide action was plentiful. Gage Kubicz was able to fend off late race charges of Bentley Thompson and Axel Oldenhoff to take home the “W.” At the stripe it was Kubicz with this first career feature win. He was followed by Thompson, Ace Oldenhoff, Axel Oldenhoff, and Wesley Baumeister.
