Stephen Sheel wins the 50 lap during the Wisconsin Air Force Night at JEFFERSON SPEEDWAY

Late Models

What a beautiful night for racing at Wisconsin’s Action Track! The weather was gorgeous for Wisconsin Air National Guard Night. The competition was stout once again.
 
   Michael Guderski snagged the early advantage for the Taylored Construction and Remodeling Late Models. Guderski did not want to see the caution flag fly on lap 15. Robbie Rucks and Tim Coley got tangled up and collected current point leader Michael Grueneberg. While under caution, Scott Patrick and Shaun Scheel would make contact while scrubbing tires. Part of Scheel’s nose piece would end up lodged in Patrick’s door. Patrick would unfortunately be forced to the pit area to get the nose piece removed. The Wisconsin Air National Guard 50 lap main event continued. Stephen Scheel finessed his way past Guderski for the lead. Scheel cruised to victory. Guderski settled for second. A hard charging Jason Erickson ended up third. Fourth and fifth went to Steven Sauer and Shane Radtke Jr.

Sportsman

Cody Erickson led the first five laps of the Lilly Auto Care Center Sportsman Feature. John Ovadal Jr. would move up and muscle his way by Erickson. Kody Hubred moved into third. The field was side by side behind the top three. As the checkers flew it was Ovadal claiming his second feature win of the season. Erickson held on for second. Nick Bruley, Hubred, and Chris Jones rounded out the top five.

Legends

The Legends Direct Legends were led to green by Aaron Genske and Colin Murphy. Neither would lead a lap, as Marianna Kubicz would overtake both of them. Her lead was surrendered to Jacob Stark shortly after. Jackson Lewis overtook Stark on lap 12 with Dillon Schwanbeck moving into second. Schwanbeck was the guy to beat as he maneuvered by Lewis with seven laps to go. Schwanbeck never looked back and earned the clean sweep on the night. Lewis, Stark, Ryan Laatsch, and Lincoln Cain put their machines in the top five.

Bandits

The PJ’s Painting Bandits were filled with action. Ryan Helling led the first six laps. Trent Rueth moved up and found a way around Helling for the top spot. Rueth would never look back. Rueth saw the checkers first. Jonathan Petitt, Tom Schuette, Nick Schmidt, and Mason Wilcott would see their numbers on the scoreboard at the conclusion of the feature. Rueth was disqualified for a rule infraction. Petitt was awarded his second win of the season.

Bandoleros

 The fearless Bandos Direct Bandoleros saw Hunter Graham lead lap one. Axel Oldenhoff moved to the lead on lap two as the field was three and four wide behind them. A caution on lap four would momentarily halt the excitement. Bentley Thompson would snag the lead on lap six. Teegan Wangsness would gain on Thompson and make his bid for the lead. Contact between the two young guns would result in Thompson losing a few positions. A great save by Thompson kept him in the top five. Wangsness held on for the win. Oldenhoff, Emily Billings, Thompson, and Mason Lenz secured positions in the top five.
